Hands that Shape Copper: A Tribute to Artisans in Workers' Month

In the middle of the 21st century, among fast-moving machines and automated factories, there are still hands that refuse to rush. Hands that shape, hammer and refine copper with a precision that only the years - and passion - can teach.Mãos que Moldam o Cobre: A Tribute to the Craftsman.

This Workers' Month, we have chosen to pay tribute to those who sustain a rare and essential art: the copper craftsman.

With the advance of technology, the world has started to produce more, faster... and more equally.

IF THERE'S ONE THING THAT REALLY COUNTS, IT'S A HANDMADE STILL

Handicraft is not just a form of production. It is synonymous with excellence, care, durability and soul. And in the case of stills, this is even more evident:
Hand-beaten copper has properties that directly benefit distillation - improving heat exchange, providing a more even boil and resulting in purer flavours.

THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE DETAIL... AND IN THE HUMAN TOUCH.

A machine-hammered copper still may look beautiful, with a uniform and “perfect” finish. But this beating is just a stamping: superficial, repeated, without depth. Without this depth, the alembic's performance is limited.

The artisan's work, on the other hand, carries intention, variation and precision. Every beat, every curve has a reason. And the result goes far beyond aesthetics: the small textures left by the hammering create micro-turbulences inside the alembic. This favors the reflux of vapors, allowing unwanted compounds to return and separate naturally - ensuring cleaner, more precise distillation. The small texture allows for better heat conduction and dissipation.
It avoids temperature concentrations and provides a stable boil - essential for the quality of the final distillate.

Every detail - the beat, the weld, the shape - is not just form, it's function. It's efficiency put there with the hands.

TO BE AN ARTISAN IS TO RESIST

It's choosing the hardest, most time-consuming path - but also the most authentic. It means prioritizing quality. It's continuing to do things the way they've been done for generations, even when everything around you is rushing to do more and faster.

As the saying goes: “Quickly and well... there's no one!”

If today we are a reference in stills, it is thanks to them - to the artisans who put soul and technique into each piece.

À l'occasion de la fête du travail, nous célébrons ceux qui savent encore comment faire les choses correctement.
To those who shape copper with mastery, respect and patience:

Our deepest gratitude. To the artisans of Coppercrafts, our tribute.
